The Mission

Our Mission: A Voice for the Land

At Outback Advocate, our mission is to restore the balance of the Australian outback by providing expert intervention and strategic advocacy for our natural landscapes. We believe that healthy country requires active, informed stewardship.

The Three Pillars of Our Mission

1. Restoration Through Action We don’t just observe the decline of ecosystems; we intervene. By identifying and removing the pressures of invasive species, we give native flora and fauna the space they need to thrive once again.

2. Data-Driven Advocacy The outback is vast, and its problems can often be hidden by its scale. We use modern surveillance and mapping technology to bring “ground truth” to landholders and stakeholders, ensuring decisions are made based on hard evidence, not guesswork.

3. Future-Proofing the Landscape We work for the next generation. Our mission is to leave every property we touch in a more resilient state than we found it—ensuring that the iconic Australian bush remains a productive, vibrant legacy for years to come.

A Personal Statement (The “Advocate” Why)

“For too long, the quiet degradation of our remote country has gone unnoticed. Outback Advocate was founded to be the eyes and ears of the land. We are dedicated to the idea that with the right technology and a deep respect for the bush, we can reverse the damage and protect the heart of Australia.”

The name Outback Advocate was chosen with a dual purpose. While our hands-on work focuses on the restoration of the landscape, our heart lies in advocating for the people who manage it.

Advocating for the Land

We are committed to the recovery of Australia’s unique biodiversity. We believe that by removing the pressure of invasive species, we give our native flora and fauna the space they need to breathe, regenerate, and thrive for future generations.

Advocating for the Producer

We recognize that pastoralists and farmers are the primary stewards of the Australian outback. Your success is the landscape’s success. We understand that invasive species aren’t just an “environmental issue”—they are a direct threat to your livelihood, your livestock, and your legacy.

Outback Advocate stands as a voice for the producer by:

  • Bridging the Gap: Acting as a professional intermediary between landholders and government departments (DBCA, DPIRD, and RBGs) to ensure that policy meets the practical reality of the station.
  • Defending Productivity: Providing the technical expertise required to protect your stock and infrastructure from the “silent burden” of feral pressure.
  • Lived Experience: We don’t just visit the outback; we operate within it. We speak the language of the landholder because we value the vital role you play in Australia’s economy and regional identity.

Our mission is simple: To provide the professional advocacy and technical action required to keep the outback productive, profitable, and preserved.
